I’m happy to share about the accumulation of additional feather in the realm of Madiga and allied communities literature with the contribution of one of the alumnus of University of Hyderabad – Department of Telugu student Mr Gaddam Mohan Rao – specifically in the category of ‘Chindu Bagotham’. In fact, I know Mr Mohan as a member of Dalit Students’ Union (DSU), University of Hyderabad, as my co-member.
Mr Mohan Rao, who is presently pursuing his Doctorate at Department of Telugu, Osmania University, Hyderabad comes from one of the sects of Madiga Caste in Andhra Pradesh – Telangana region. And his family had been traditionally associated with the ‘Chindu Bagotham’ performance for generations together. In fact, Dalit Students’ Union (DSU), University of Hyderabad arranged ‘Chindu Bagotham’ performance on February 01, 2012 at School of Humanities Auditorium. The details of this event were well document by Dr Darla Venkateswara Rao over his blog at ఆలోచింపజేసిన జాంబవపురాణం ప్రదర్శన & సెంట్రల్ వర్సిటీలో ‘జాంబవపురాణం’ ప్రదర్శన పై పత్రికల స్పందన. And, more specifically Mr Mohan’s academic research for M. Phil., and Ph.D., too is revolving around this aspect only. As a mark of continuation to his family’s profession and his academic specialization Mr Mohan is marking a Book Release on Chindu Bagotham at Hyderabad City’s prestigious auditorium Ravindra Bharati Conference Hall on May 13, 2013 @ 05:00 pm. This book is specifically about the contribution/s of ‘Chindula Yellamma and Chindula Hamsa’. For more details please see the below pamphlet.
