The 1950 Constitutional Order issued by the President of India, as per his Constitutional Powers, which is discriminating the Dalits on Religious grounds is a matter of political controversy among various sections, especially between the Dalits versus Hindutva forces. Government of India appointed a Committee to Review Amendments to the Criminal Law in the wake of the December 16, 2012 gang rape of a Delhi Physiotherapy Student under the Chairmanship of Justice J S Verma.
